Fixed Penalty Notice training

Cornwall

07/12/2021

Does your area have problems with persistent littering or dog fouling? Looking for a local, cost effective solution?

Cornwall Council’s Community Protection team is delivering a half day Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) training course on 31 January 2022 via Teams.

The course will train and authorise town and parish council staff to issue FPNs for environmental crime incidences including dog fouling, dogs on beaches, littering and fly tipping. This will give local councils the resources and opportunities to tackle local small-scale problems and issue fines where appropriate. Cornwall Council’s Community Protection team will provide ongoing advice and support as needed.

Please note the law does not permit councillors to issue Fixed Penalty Notices. This training is only for local council staff.

The training course is £100 per person and your council will receive 50% of the income for each FPN issued.

To book a place, email Publicprotection@cornwall.gov.uk or ring 01209 616990.

If you would be interested in alternative dates or a bespoke course for eight or more council staff, please get in touch and ask to be added to the interest register.
